Rodney & Jackie Atwell :Ginger, Danielle, Micky and the rest of the Hardy family, we are so sorry for your loss. I just found out about Rick last night at work, I couldn’t believe it, it hit me hard. I know we have not been in touch with you in a while but believe me we have been thinking of you all very much. Just the other day we were thinking about making plans to go riding. Miriam, I am sorry and deeply sadden by the loss that you are going through now. Ricky was a friend and i injoyed his friendship here at family dollar. I’ll always remember back 9 and he will always have a place in my heart. I don’t know all the words to say but I do know that in our lowest times we should aways look to God.

Mr. Porter ( he always teased me calling him
that) was a very caring person that I’ll remember.
He hired me many years ago working in the
purchasing dept. with Wake Co. Schools and
I have good memories of those times.

Dear Mrs. Miriam and Family,
My name is Brookes Herrington, and it is with great sorrow that I offer my condolences over the loss of Mr. Ricky. Myself and a good friend of mine by the name of Will Porter stopped when we saw the accident happen. Will and myself got in the truck with Mr. Ricky and unfastened his seatbelt and got him out of the truck. I wanted you to know that I was with Mr. Ricky at the accident and he was not alone. I held his hand and offered him CPR until the ambulance arrived. I went to the hospital to check on him only to find out that he had went on to be with our Lord and Saviour. Even though I did not know Mr. Ricky personally, he touched my heart as he reminded me so much of my own father. They resemble very much in their appearances. I know in my heart that God has greater plans for Mr. Ricky as I felt such a bond with him even though our meeting was brief. I know he is a special person in my and God’s eyes. I pray that he may rest in peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father. He will always hold a special place in my heart and I wish I could have done more to have helped him. Please give him a kiss from me and know that you and your family will forever be in my heart. I share greatly in your loss and your grief. May God comfort you in your time of need.
