Phillip Simon Sauls, 49, of Duncan, NC passed away Thursday, October 19th at his home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Williford Funeral Home in Fuquay Varina.
Phillip, most commonly known as Phil, was the son of the late Wilbur and Linda Sauls. He was born and raised in Harnett County and lived here throughout most of his life.
In March of 1989, Phil welcomed his first and only child, Darrell.
Phil could be known as a jack of all trades. He took pride in landscaping, painting and his auto repair skills. When he wasn't working, you could find him cheering on the UNC Tarheels or watching NASCAR. He loved to fish, collect things he thought would make him money later on and absolutely adored his dogs. Most times you could find them riding shotgun in his truck. Phil was the first person to lend a helping hand to anyone he thought needed him. He had the utmost respect for anyone who made him a home cooked meal and would go on for days bragging about how much he loved it.
Phil had an undying love for his family. So much so that people who didn't even know his son felt like they had watched him grow up through Phil's endless stories.
As well as his parents, Phil is predeceased by his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Phil is survived by his son, Darrell Sauls and his grand-daughter Ella Sauls of Carthage.
He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, friend and the one person you could count on to save money or make money!
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 26th at 2:00pm at Duncan Baptist Church in Fuquay Varina followed by burial at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.

I grew up with Phil he was a good friend. Through the years we lost touch until last year when I started taking care of a senior citizen that lived in one of the homes that Phil owned! He was always so respectful and helped out alot with the neighbors. I believe Phil had a good heart, he will be missed by us all. I will be keeping his son Darrell and his family in my prayers!

This truly breaks my heart...I haven't seen Phil in a many years..but he helped me grieve the day my grandmother died and we weren't able to go to the funeral...I spent the day with him and he was so comforting...Not even sure he knew how comforting he was that day and a few others...You will be missed Phil..
I'll be keeping his son , granddaughter and the rest of his family in my prayers...RIP Phil.
