Helen Malecki was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and was a 1961 graduate of Liberty High School. Her parents, Joseph and Helen Cheszar, predeceased her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years and caregiver, Joseph Malecki of Fuquay-Varina, NC; daughters, Emily Getz and husband Jack of Holly Springs, and Katherine Karabec and husband Ralph of Monroe, NY; and five grandchildren. She worked as a computer teacher in an elementary school in Monroe, NY and was an advertising representative for the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. Helen had many hobbies, including sewing, cooking, gardening, and loved animals. Her personality was always outgoing. She loved life, had a great attitude, and sense of humor, even during her terrible illness. A mass to honor her memory will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Fuquay-Varina, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity, the SPCA.
“Of all the friends I’ve ever met, you’re the one I won’t forget. And if I die before you do, I’ll go to heaven and wait for you. I’ll give the angels back their wings, and risk the loss of everything, just to prove my friendship is true, I’m thankful to have family and friends like you!”
