David Earl Pendergraph
Dateline: Apex, NC
David E. Pendergraft, 51, of Apex died at his home on August 29, 2008, following a long battle with emphysema. Survivors are Danny Pendergraft of Apex, Jo Ann Jackola (Randy) of Durham, Mary Cameron (Ron) of Cary, Gail VanDeusen of Cary, Mickey Pendergraft (Kathy) of Raleigh, and Kevin Pendergraft (Beth) of Fuquay, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and an extended circle of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Ethel Pendergraft, and a brother, Gary Pendergraft.
David loved to fish with his friends, namely Marshall Morgan, and his dad at Harris Lake and Jordan Lake. He loved Duke basketball and pro football and was an avid reader of Stephen King novels. He worked for many years at Estes Express Lines until his illness progressed.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Sept 6, at the Cypress picnic shelter, Harris Lake, New Hill, NC, at 4 pm. David requested that his family and friends gather together for his ashes to be scattered over the lake. A covered dish dinner will follow the service.
We would especially like to thank David’s neighbors and good friends, Buddy and Pat, for all they did for our brother during his illness.
David loved his family and friends and he surely will be missed.
