Dateline: Columbus, Georgia Ruth Braswell Smith, 77, of Angier, NC, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Azalea Trace in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Williford Funeral Home Chapel in Fuquay Varina, NC with Rev. Jeff Jones and Rev. Myron Douglas officiating with internment in Memorial Gardens in Lillington, NC according to Striffler–Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Mrs. Smith was born August 17, 1931 in Harnett County, NC the daughter of the late Theatrice and Leamor Tutor Braswell. She was a lifelong resident of Harnett County, NC and lived in Columbus for the past two months. She was receded in death by her husband, Bobby John Smith. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws, Babbs and Myron Douglas of Columbus, GA and Renee and Sherwood Ammons of Willow Spring, NC; two sons, Tony Smith and Rodney Smith both of Angier, NC; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Wayne Tingen of Fuquay Varina, NC; four grandchildren.
