Mary Rachel Cotten, 72, passed away at Duke Raleigh Hospital on April 5, 2009. She was born November 16, 1936 in Harnett County, NC to the late Malcolm Thomas and Lucille Wimberly Upchurch. She is also preceeded in death to her brother Jack Upchurch.
Survivors include her husband John Reece Cotten, her four children, Stanley Cotten, wife Cheryl, Wesley Cotten, wife Janet, Portia Devine, husband Bill, and Debra Garner, husband Ben. In addition, Mrs. Cotten leaves behind five siblings, Helen Cummings, Ray Upchurch, Burt Upchurch, Mack Upchurch, and Tom Upchurch, as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.?
