Helen Thomas Rollins died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Rex Hospital. She was born November 6, 1924 in Corinth, North Carolina, to Norris M. Thomas and Leetie Cox Thomas. She was a teacher of English and French at Fuquay-Varina High School then went on to retire from E.I. Dupont de Nemours & Company after twenty years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack M. Thomas.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Newell E. Rollins of Fuquay-Varina, sister-in-law Kathy Shores of Winston-Salem, nephew Brian Thomas and his wife Joanne of Graham, niece Amy Wade and husband Ron of Gibsonville, great niece Kristina Thomas of Winston-Salem, and many cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 16 at Williford Funeral Home, Fuquay-Varina. The Reverend Janet Balasko will be officiating. Visitation will occur before the service at 1:00pm. Entombment will immediately follow at Montlawn Cemetery.
